If you try to edit your comments to a blog post you'll notice that the edit form has a quirk which causes your paragraphing to be lost. You can avoid this if you delete the text in the edit form and then copy-and-paste your existing post (which will still show in the box above the edit form) into the editing form. Then make your changes and save. This way your formatting won't be lost and the text won't be all scrunched together.
