In the past, the attempt was: "Given the person I am, what can I get?" This is unproductive.
A better question: "What kind of person am I and can I be? What is my true nature?"
Maybe a rejection of the relationships of the past is necessary. I own no allegiance to the dependencies of the person I used to be, the fractional person. Maybe something new will develop - if not with those people, then with someone(s) new.
